Net Zero Objectives
Baseline measurements
We need to understand our baseline emissions before we can plan to reduce them.
We believe that accurate and honest measurement of our baseline carbon emissions and setting of reduction targets using a well-known and respected carbon auditor are the first essential steps in our journey to Net Zero.
Why Now?
We are starting this journey for two reasons. Firstly, any responsible business should play an active part in keeping carbon emissions to a minimum. Secondly, the Formula 1 sector is now working towards net zero, and as a key supplier of engineering materials to this sector, it is only right that we follow suit, especially if we wish to remain a significant engineering materials supplier to this market.
Philosophy:
We believe, our approach provides a transparent, uniform and rigorous framework to emission management, meaning all our stakeholders can trust in the results it reports.
Objectives:
We will publish a verified account of the carbon process on an annual basis and utilise clear science-based targets for emission reduction in the near term. We will also publish a carbon reduction plan to prioritise and focus our actions. We will make provision of embodied carbon data on all metals supplied, with evidence to support the calculations, and create a company wide carbon aware workforce via training and information sharing.
