15CDV6 is a low carbon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium heat-treatable steel with high strength after heat treatment (1080-1280 N/mm²).
The alloy is easily welded and does not require localised heat treatment after welding. 15CDV6 combines outstanding yield strength with good toughness. In motorsport applications the alloy offers a cost-effective solution in areas where a combination of high strength and excellent weldability is required.
15CDV6 has a broad range of applications in the motorsport sector due to the cost-effective nature and versatility of the alloy. With characteristics including easy weldability and high strength, the material is used in a number of race car components including suspension, uprights, wishbones, roll cages and track/push rods.
