Our high-performance steel stock range includes 12 separate product grades in various sizes and forms.
Our range provides various enhanced performance characteristics, including ultra-high strength, impact toughness, high fatigue and stress resistance and elevated temperature performance. Many of these steels can be nitrided.
Steel is much heavier than aluminium, titanium, and magnesium, but the material is the best solution for specific applications. Few products fit the bill as perfectly as steel when ultra-high strength, hardness or abrasion resistance is required. As with all the products we stock, each has its unique characteristics, and our customers continually balance such qualities against achievable performance gains.
Gear Steels
We stock steel alloys specifically developed for use in producing gears and bearings.
Ferrium® C61 and Ferrium® C64 are highly engineered steel alloys that benefit from characteristics that make them a perfect solution for engine gear production. The characteristics of each alloy also give designers the option to make smaller, lighter components while maintaining strength and typical attributes so that there is no loss in performance.
