Capabilities:

Hot formability is very good, while cold formability is fair. The alloy meets EU drinking water requirements along with ELV and RoHS directives and, therefore, finds use in water systems and sanitary applications. CW724R also benefits from good machinability and corrosion resistance.

Further Details:

Often referred to as silicon red brass, CW724R has low lead (Pb) content (less than 0.1%). From a suitability perspective, the alloys is considered a high-strength alternative to certain stainless steels. The material also has an aesthetically pleasing finished once polished.

Applications:
