Engineering Steels
High tensile strength
All industries use steel at some point, and the motorsport sector is no exception.
We stock a specific range of engineering steel products, particularly for applications in this sector. Our products benefit from high tensile strength, and nitriding is possible for many of them. Specific grades are particularly suitable for motorsport applications, such as EN40B, which is found in crankshaft production.
Characteristics from our product range include good ductility, good frictional wear and superior shock loading resistance; EN24 is not only fatigue resistant but also resists the effects of cyclic loading without failure. Heat treatments dictate the overall strength and toughness of the alloy. Engineering steels are typically utilised in applications where weight reduction is not critical.

Highly Versatile
Engineering steels are highly versatile and is found in various motorsport applications.
Gears, axles, connecting rods, crankshafts, anti-roll bars, fasteners, bearings and pistons - the list is endless and like all products, is dictated by suitability. We stock engineering steels in solid round bars in various diameters to suit your engineering requirements.
