UKAS Testing

Extensive testing methods

In-house testing services from the leading materials supplier in motorsport.

Our UKAS accredited testing laboratory offers a wide range of specific tests which are available to our motorsport customers.

Chemical Analysis:

We undertake chemical analysis using Spectro Maxx Spark Emission Spectrometers to analyse iron, copper, nickel, aluminium and titanium base materials. We carry out analysis to BS EN 14726, ASTM E1086, ASTM E415, ASTM A751, ASTM E1251 & BS EN 15079.

Metallurgical Analysis & Corrosion Testing:

We use metallurgical microscopes, sample preparation equipment and associated equipment to allow for metallurgical evaluation (to ASTM A923 Method A), phase balance analysis (to ASTM E562), corrosion testing (to ASTM G48 + A923 Method C) and grain size analysis (to ASTM E112) .

Charpy Impact Testing:

We have two Charpy V Notch impact testers in our laboratory. This includes a 300J Impact Tester (to ASTM E23 & A370). We also provide cryogenic cooling down to -60°.

Other Tests:

Other tests offered by our laboratory include tensile testing (using 30-tonne tensile testers), weld assessment testing, hardness testing and physical properties testing. We also have handheld XRF-positive material Identification scanners, where we can instantly scan materials to identify the grade and chemistry. Our metallurgists also perform investigations for our customers relating to quality assurance, batches, material failures and specification anomalies.
