Smiths High Performance offers many additional services that go way beyond beyond simple stocking and supply. We combine various elements of our service package to form tailored supply solutions that many of our customers take advantage of in contractual agreements. However, most of these services are still available to our customers on an ad-hoc basis and a one-off order can still be supplied as a complete package.

Our cutting/processing options open up the possibility for us to supply materials in sizes, lengths, finishes and coatings that are already one-step closer to the finished component you have in mind. For many customers, the most inefficient manufacturing operations are the initial 'cutting-to-size' operations that tie-up machines and operators that are meant to be doing more complicated work. This is where we can help.

Our well equipped engineering services department offers a wide range of more advanced first-stage processing operations. Much of this work is bespoke to individual customer specifications. Through this service we are able to offer complete solutions that provide customers with raw material components that are ready for a single final machining operation.

Many of our customers require materials to be heat treated as part of their supply package. Through our supply partner network we are able to provide an external heat treatment service that offers a complete range of heat treatment operations.

A critical part of our business is the way we use Information Technology to deliver services that are unique to us. The whole of the Smiths Group runs on multi-million pound software that was progressively developed in-house over five years using a team of professional IT developers. But we haven't stopped developing software and we're now able to tailor our software to any customer supply requirement. This allows for many different possibilities from simple interfaces with a customers existing computer system to complex bespoke Supplier Managed Inventory operations.
