| Smiths High Performance is a trading division of Smiths Metal Centres Ltd. We were established in 2001 to provide a focus on a small number of existing customers that required a particular range of products and a "partnership" level of service. Today we are multi-million pound turnover operation with a greatly expanded customer base and an ex-stock range of high performance materials that is amongst the best the in World. Our parent company has been in business for over 225 years and has over 20,000 customer accounts in the UK. Being part of the Smiths Group has a number of key advantages. Firstly, we can take advantage of the substantial buying power the group has. This allows us to buy materials in bulk quantities in order to get the best possible prices. Secondly, we are part of one of the largest materials distribution networks in the UK (see map). This allows us to provide a next-day service, using our own vehicle fleet, to nearly any part of the country controlling every aspect of our service to a customer. Thirdly, we have access to a wide range of skills from purchasing through to metallurgy (including a materials testing laboratory). This allows us to offer a compete assistance package covering almost any issue.
