ABS

Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) has good toughness & stiffness with excellent machining. Can be electro-plated & is easily bonded.

ACRYLIC

Very good mechanical strength & hardness. Easy to polish, giving excellent transparency. UV stable with a useful temperature range.

CARP

Tufnol Carp is a fine weave, high quality cotton fabric that combines excellent mechanical strength with first class electrical properties.

ECTFE

Exceptional impact strength in the temperature range -40 to +150°C. Often used in chemical processing in semi-conductor industry.

HDPE

High density polyethylene; easy to process & weld, used for chemical tank construction. Excellent resistance to chemicals & hot water.

NYLON 12

Milky white with very low moisture absorption for good dimensional stability & excellent electrical properties. Easily machined.

NYLON 6 & 66

Tough, excellent bearing properties and good chemical resistance. Wide range of grades available including glass filled.

PET-P

Good mechanical strength & stiffness. Low creep resistance. Excellent wear resistance and low friction. Good dimensional stability.

ACETAL

 

Good bearing properties. Excellent machinability and dimensional stability. Available in a variety of colours.

PEEK

Excellent combination of chemical resistance, thermal stability, mechanical strength, creep resistance & electrical properties.

PEI

Outstanding combination of thermal (170°C continuous / 210°C short term), electrical & mechanical properties.

POLYPROPYLENE

Good chemical resistance and heat resistance (100°C). Food approved. Available in standard, glass filled and static dissipative versions.

POLYCARBONATE

Transparent with high stiffness. The natural grade has excellent impact resistance down to -50°C. Glass filled version available.

PTFE

One of the best chemical resistant plastics. Very low friction & excellent electrical insulation. Useful temperature range -260/+260°C.

PVC

Excellent chemical resistance and is easy to machine. Useful temperature range is -15°C to +60°C. UL94V0 flammability.
